HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2018 -

Halloween is a folk festival celebrated on the evening of October 31, the eve of the The Christian holiday of All Saints. Halloween was introduced in the United States and Canada after the massive influx of Irish and Scottish emigrants following the Great Famine in Ireland (1845-1851), and has been gaining popularity since the 1920s. 
Tradition has it that kids dress up in scary costumes like ghosts, witches, monsters or vampires and go door-to-door asking for treats: "Trick or treat!". The evening can also be marked by bonfires, fireworks, games, reading horror tales or viewing horror films. 
Personally, I invited some of my friend politicians to the cottage and together we will tell each other beautiful stories...

STEVE MCCURRY AND THE GIRL

By Bernard Bujold -  Montreal Art Gallery GOT is presenting a unique exhibition of pictures by STEVE MCMURRY (born in 1950), the widely known US Photographer.  McCurry career was launched in 1984 when, disguised in native garb, he crossed the Pakistan border into rebel-controlled areas of Afghanistan just before the Soviet invasion. When he emerged, he had rolls of film sewn into his clothes. Those images, which were published around the world, were among the first to show the conflict.   The picture of the "Afghan girl" is considered a classic in modern photography. McCurry took the portrait of "Afghan Girl" in a refugee camp near Peshawar, Pakistan. The shooting lasted for only about 2 minutes and he took about 10 to 15 pictures. One of the image was however published in the National Geographic magazine and the girl face became famous as the cover photograph on the June 1985 issue.                                                          THE SUPER BOWL 2020 - THE GAME  By Bernard Bujold - The Super Bowl 2020 on Sunday February 2 was a perfect game, at least for the Chiefs of Kansas City and their Quebec/Canadian star player Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. The Chiefs won by 31 against the 49ers at 20. One could conclude that Laurent Duvernay Tardif is a very happy guy!  SEE PHOTO
